Next
month sees the start of the
Aunt Sally season, and our
two house teams will be entered in the Abingdon and District
Summer League as usual. Our 'A' side will be out to
defend their title as Premier Section champions, while our
'B' side will be competing in Section E.
Playing Aunt
Sally isn't confined to the experts, and it is an easy game
to pick up. With the evenings drawing out and the
weather improving, now is the time to book your
company Aunt Sally event.
We do not charge for booking the pitch, and we'll be happy
to provide whatever refreshments you require. You'll
get a full set of
the rules, and if needed a
host for your event. Call us on 01235 821228 to book
your event.
Our
next guest ale is another Oxfordshire favourite.
Tanner's Jack, formerly brewed at the Morland brewery in
Abingdon, is a soft reddish brown ale
with a nutty, malty palette, background sweetness and a smooth finish.
At 4.4% ABV, it is always popular at The Fox, so if you
haven't tried it in previous years, what are you waiting
for?

Although
Old Tom (remember
him?) has retired to the National Bus Museum, we
were pleased to welcome some of his friends to The Fox
today.
For the petrol heads amongst you, they are a
red Triumph TR4, A green Singer four-seat convertible, a
black Rover 80, a blue Triumph Stag, a black and grey Ford
Pilot V8, and a blue open-top singer.
They made a
fantastic display in the pub car park and attracted many
admirers while their owners enjoyed a traditional
Sunday lunch.
We hope to see them whenever they are allowed out for a run
again, and we thank their owners for bringing them out to
see us.

Over
the past four years we have given our customers more than
thirty different beers to choose from. As well as
having Hardy and Hanson's Olde Trip on tap to next week to celebrate
St. George's
Day, we now have another guest ale new to
The Fox.
Bath Ales' Gem
is an exceptional
bitter brewed to 4.1% ABV using floor-malted Maris Otter
barley and Goldings hops. Gem has a rich aroma of malt
and hops, with a long, deep bitter-sweet finish we know
you'll savour.

A reminder that on Wednesday
23 April The Fox will turn red and white to celebrate St.
George's Day, and we'll have special deals on traditional
English food and drink to mark the occasion.
We will be
serving roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding all day, served
with potatoes roasted in beef dripping and fresh vegetables.
We'll also be offering the Fox's Hotpot based on the
traditional Lancashire recipe, as well as other offers to
tempt your taste buds.
Then we'll have Hardy and Hanson's Olde Trip real ale on tap
as our guest beer. Full of character, this premium ale has all the
qualities you would expect of a traditional bitter from one of England's
oldest brewers. Olde Trip Ale truly is 'the real ale with the real tale'.
Legend has it that the Olde Trip Inn in Nottingham was where knights, rallying to the call of
King Richard, stopped off for 'one for the road' on their way to the
Holy Land to join the Third Crusade.
Finally, if
you wear red
and white to The Fox on St. George's Day, we'll give you
a voucher offering you money off your next visit to the pub.
Celebrate
the rich history of England at The Fox on Wednesday 23 April
and pick up a bargain.
