In
addition to our regular brands,
we also offer Greene King's seasonal ales, as well as guest ales from
other brewers, and over the past two years we have offered more than 20
beers for our customers to choose from.
Our next guest ale will be Ruddles Orchard. Brewed to 4.2% by volume,
Orchard combines the taste of fresh apples with a blend of unusual hops and premium
malted barley.

Jen
and I would like to thank everyone for their best wishes on the occasion
of our marriage on 18 May. We had a perfect two days - even the
weather co-operated, and the rain clouds stayed away.
It was fantastic to see
so many old friends at the party at The Fox on the Saturday, and to see
everyone having such a good time.
We would particularly
like to thank Kenny Shaw of The Ridgeway Cafe for providing such a
wonderful spread of food during the afternoon and evening. Kenny
did us proud, and we know that everyone enjoyed the enormous buffet he
and his staff laid on. Thanks, Kenny.
Thanks too to Dave
Mather for providing the disco throughout the day, and to Chris Whitehead of the Jokers quiz team for manning the decks and presenting
our
"So You Think You Know Pete and Jen" quiz in the afternoon.
Finally, thank you to
everyone for their wedding gifts. We are still amazed by your
generosity, and we promise to get around to writing you all a personal
thank you note just as soon as possible.
And now, after a week
of relative relaxation, it's back to the work of running your favourite
local. Thanks again for making Jen so welcome at The Fox - I think
Mrs Kidd will make The Fox an even more popular place to visit in the
years ahead.

Our
new guest ale
is Brain's The Reverend James. Full bodied and warming, rich in
palate, spicy and aromatic with a deeply satisfying finish, this premium
ale is brewed to 4.5% abv, and has been described as having a "classic
flavour not commonly available these days".
The roots of The
Reverend James dates back to Buckleys
Brewery in 1767, when, under the ownership of Henry Child, a
prominent Methodist, the company began to brew beer in Llanelli. The
Reverend James Buckley later took on the serious development of the
brewery after his marriage to Child's daughter, Maria.
A traditional centuries
old recipe is followed to brew this premium ale, now proving to be a
highly popular guest throughout the UK.
