On Friday 18 November we will be holding our second Big Charity Quiz in aid of Children in Need.  This year we shall combine it with a Charity Slave Auction, and we're looking for anyone who would donate their services - whether professional or amateur - to be bid for on the night. 

Dave Mather, our quizmaster, has already donated a free birthday or wedding disco worth over £200, but we need as many slaves as possible. 

 

"What do I have to offer?" I hear you ask.  Well, virtually anything: you can offer to mow someone's lawn for free, wash their car, cook their Sunday lunch, clean their house, or do their shopping.  Something a little larger?  Well, how about a free relaxing massage?  A beauty therapy session?  A makeover?  A candlelit meal for two? 

 

If you don't feel you have any services you can offer, we would love it if you could donate a prize for the raffle.  Rest assured that The Fox will be providing plenty of prizes and slaves, but the more we are able to offer on the night, the more money we can raise for Children in Need.

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the Anthony Millbank Charity Aunt Sally Tournament at The Fox on August Bank Holiday Monday, particularly Duncan and Vicky Earl who organised the whole day. 

Over £150 was raised and will be donated to charities helping those fighting cancer. 

 

The singles event was won by Derek Fletcher, above, and Paul Link and Dave Hastings, pictured on the left, won the doubles. They received their trophies from Milly's widow, Sharon, pictured here with the winners.

Congratulations to the winners, and thanks again to everyone who came along. 

We'll be doing it all again the same time next year.

In addition to our regular brands, we also offer Greene King's seasonal ales, as well as guest ales from other brewers.

As usual at this time of year, we are updating our restaurant menu to offer you new and interesting dishes.

Each year we review the menu and add new choices to to give you more variety and alternatives to whet your appetite.

Our new restaurant menu is launched today, and on it you will see new dishes such as Roasted Fillet of Salmon with a Herb Crust, BBQ Pork Steak with our famous Homemade Coleslaw, and Pan-fried Liver and Bacon with Onion Gravy.
