After four and a half years at The Fox, fighting the effects of the smoking ban, last year's floods, a burglary, and two consecutive disastrously cold and wet summers, the time has come to pass the pub on to a new licensee.  I shall be leaving The Fox on Monday 15 September.

In preparation for my departure and the handover to the new tenant, The Fox will be closed on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September.  The new licensee is due to take possession on Monday 15 September, but it is unlikely that the pub will be open for business until Tuesday 16 September at the earliest.

This is a very sad day for me.  I have been associated with The Fox for more than fifteen years, so I will leave behind a lot of happy memories.  I would like to thank our customers for their support over the past four years, and in particular I am extremely grateful to my staff, all of whom have stood beside me through good times and bad.  Together we have worked to make The Fox the best pub around, and I am very proud of what we have achieved during my short time here.

Good luck to everyone - staff and customers - and thanks again for all the fun we've had together.  It's been a pleasure serving you and working with you.

Best wishes
