Drinking at
The Fox

... is more popular than ever following the refurbishment of
our bar in the summer of 2006.
 The Fox is part of the
Greene King estate, and as such we
offer an award-winning range of cask
and guest ales and beers complemented by specially selected wines by the glass and bottle,
a selection of
single malt whiskies, and a wide variety of
low-alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks.
Add to this
our huge
lunchtime and dinner menus, a bright and airy
bar, friendly staff, colourful local characters, and our
large and attractive beer garden, and we think The Fox is
the best place to enjoy a drink with your colleagues or friends
and family at any time of the year.
Cask Ales
 Our biggest selling bitter is
Morland Original, formerly brewed just three miles from The Fox
Inn by the Morland brewery in
Abingdon, home of the MG sports car.
Brewed to 4.0% abv,
it is a fully
fermented, refreshing ale with a very distinctive
and intense
bitterness. Hints of subtle fruitiness on the nose follow through to the
palate along with a light touch of malt.
Morland Original is supported by
Ruddles Best (3.7% ABV). It has a very
unique late hop character with an aroma that is packed with soft fruit.
Ruddles Best has a balanced blend of hoppy citrus and bitter flavours
that provide a surprisingly full body and clean finish.
 Greene King's flagship
brand, Abbot
Ale is brewed with pale crystal and amber malts
to give an attractive colour and rich malty taste. Brewed to 5% ABV,
Abbot is a full flavoured, smooth
and mature bitter favoured by many real ale lovers. In addition to our regular ales, we usually have at least one
guest or seasonal ale
on offer, ranging from golden summer ales all the way through to dark
winter warmers.

Beers
As well
as our cask ales, we stock Belhaven Best smooth bitter,
Guinness and Guinness Extra Cold stout, Strongbow and
Stowford Press ciders, and
Kronenbourg 1664 and
Budweiser Budvar premium lagers, as well
as
Fosters lager.
The Water of Life
 We
have a selection of
single malt whiskies (sometimes called "The Water of Life")
to complement our blended brands (Bells, Famous Grouse, Johnny Walker
Black Label and Jameson's Irish Whiskey). We also stock Jack
Daniels Bourbon and Southern Comfort for those who prefer something
sweeter.
Wines by the Glass and
Bottle
Our
selection
of wines has been specially chosen to appeal to a range of palettes and pockets.
We offer four white wines, three reds, two rosés, a sparkling wine and a
champagne.
Low-alcohol and
Non-alcoholic Drinks
There was a time when
publicans took little interest in drivers' or children's needs,
but those days have passed, and with today's interest in healthy
lifestyles we are proud to offer a wide range of drinks for those who
prefer to limit their alcoholic intake.
As well as Coca-Cola,
lemonade, fruit juices and mineral waters, we stock
the Britvic J20 fruit drink range and
Robinson's Fruit Shoots. For beer
drinkers we offer Bitburger Drive alcohol-free lager, a genuine German
lager but without the alcohol. |
